Congratulations to Rachel Goodman on passing the Registered Dietician exam. This is a great accomplishment and an asset for OneWorld.
Mission Moments:
Dawn Ballosing, our WIC Manager, was thoughtful enough to pass on a couple of Mission Moments she has recently encountered. If any of you have any Mission Moments please pass them my way. They are a nice reminder of what we already know, that we have the most worthy mission and the best group staff anywhere carrying it out every day!
Mission Moment 1:
Dawn was at the Florist and was asked what the occasion was for which she was purchasing flowers. When she told the florist that it was for a colleague at OneWorld her exuberant response was: " I love OneWorld!" She went on to say that she had a wonderful experience with every staff member from appointment setting to follow-up nurses calls. She shared with the other customer at the counter that OneWorld has "the most wonderful people" and how they helped when she and her husband first moved to Omaha, and they needed affordable medical attention as her husband suffers from COPD. She told the other customer that her visit to OneWorld was better than she could hope for because and I quote, " my husband received quality care, without breaking our bank because of the neat sliding scale fee and that Dr. Henry ( I think Dr. Dethlefs) he is such a nice man", unquote. As a consequence the waiting customer asked me for my business card. She asked if we offered dental care services, to which Dawn happily responded yes, and wrote down all of OneWorld's information for her.
Mission Moment 2: (written by Dawn)
I currently sit on the Policy Committee for Educare and was privileged to learn from one of my fellow committee members that the majority of their registrants for their new facility opening in August on "W" street were referred to them by OWCHC employees, and as a consequence they (Educare) in turn will be recommending that parents take their children to OWCHC for school immunizations and flu shots. She asked me for my business card and I had none but was happy to write down all the information she would need to direct her new parents to OWCHC.
